Boris Ivanov: Giving Back Since Gazprom
When it comes to running a company, Boris Ivanov believes that social responsibility should not be forgotten while also creating revenue. There are a lot of ways that he and his company have been able to give back and they plan to continue trying to improve the lives of others. The country of Ethiopia in Africa has been the target of many of the philanthropical efforts since 2014 when the company first started looking at prospects for oil and natural gas reserves in the area. The areas that Boris Ivanov has been working on in Ethiopia include education, food security, water access, medical training, and education as these efforts will help improve the lives of residents in the local communities for years to come.
Boris Ivanov began developing a name for himself in the oil and natural gas industry while working for Gazprom in executive and managerial positions with the company. Eventually, he went on to found his own company in 2011 and eventually left his positions with Gazprom. Over the years he has been in the industry, he has learned that social responsibility projects can have a lot of benefits for everyone involved including the staff of his company. These projects are exceptionally important to the entrepreneur and he believes that every corporation should be dedicated to operating in a socially responsible way that contributes to the betterment of the world.
One of the ways that he has seen can help the communities that they are working in is to employ people in the local population instead of sourcing all of his team from outside of the area. This has shown to be a great way to drive growth regionally which can have a good impact on the economy. Boris Ivanov and his companies have been able to employ thousands of people throughout countries like Niger and Ethiopia that are considered “working poor”. The local people who became a part of his company have been able to contribute a great deal in areas like language skills, cultural knowledge, and because they are familiar with the communities, they can help them deal with many challenges.
