How Clement Perrette Has Brought Forward Thinking To Barclay’s
Deadline News posted an article in honor of Perrette, entitled “Globalization and Finance: Clement Perrette Reflects on Continuous Evolution of Barclays”. As its name suggests, this article provides insight into Barclays & their global success. Reflecting upon past technologies and how today’s modern marvels enabled businesses to flourish.
Barclay’s PLC is one of the UK’s top investment banking firms with offices on every global continent and clients from every business market. While many people have been responsible for growing the bank’s portfolio, UK investor Clement Perrette has helped the firm revolutionize its product offering and services, and even rethink investment strategies over the years.
Barclay’s leaders were in tune with the direction of financial technology, and how globalization was going to become a bigger part of banking after the 2008 crisis. In personal banking, Barclay’s built its global ATM network as well as its online banking system to keep its clients connected around the world. They have also included various domestic and international funds as part of their diversified investment banking. Click Here for more information.
French born, Clement Perrette has had a long career in investment banking that began after he graduated from the prestigious school of finance at HEC Paris. His first foray into securities trading advisory services began at Société Générale Paris where the client funds were based in STRIPS.
These are a form of government bonds that have predetermined interest rates with set earnings that operate similarly to US Treasury bonds. From there, Clement Perrette joined Barclay’s Paris office and was head of the EUR Long-End Rates Trading division. He even moved up the ladder from there to managing director roles and having more say in the investment committee under the auspices of Barclay’s CFO.
In 2016, Clement Perrette left Barclay’s and helped form RAM Active Investments in Switzerland. Though finance may still be his primary focus, he has started dedicating a lot more of his time to philanthropic causes like ocean life preservation. He is on the board at Thrive Global, a foundation of ocean wildlife activists and marine biologists that studies the oceans and produces film documentaries about them.
