Dakota Access Pipeline has been a game changer. Today, the oil production figure in North Dakota stands at 1.18 million barrels a day thanks to the operation of this pipeline, which can transport over 570,000 barrels a day. Though the region still falls behind Texas and the Gulf of Mexico in oil production, it’s setting new records aggressively.

An Anniversary of Success

Dakota Access, LLC, the company behind this game-changing pipeline, pointed out that this anniversary was one of success. Since it began operation, the pipeline has transported a total of 182.5 million barrels of oil with no major incident. This line has been almost perfect as in the first six months, and it only leaked 4 barrels of oil out of the 61.25 it transported in that period. Go Here to learn more.

This is far from the disaster the opponents of the Dakota Access Pipeline had predicted that it would be. When Dakota Access, LLC, went to seek federal and state approval to build the pipeline, it was met by objections from all sides. Most of the opponents to the project had projected that the pipeline would devastate the environment and also contaminate drinking water sources as a result of the massive oil leaks that would follow its operation. None of these speculations have come true. See This Article to learn more.

Safety Is the Priority

During this Dakota Access Pipeline anniversary celebration, Dakota Access, LLC, management pointed out that during this whole project, safety not only of the people but also the environment has been its top priority. As a result, Energy Transfer Partners, the company that constructed the pipeline made it up 50% thicker than what the regulations mandate for most of its length. Additionally, the company is doing everything to make sure that the pipeline is always in its optimal state.
