Peter Briger Personal Profile
Peter Briger is the President of the Fortress Investment Group. He is also one of the co-founders of the organization. Mr. Briger has served as one of the board directors of Fortress for a long time.
Apart from being one of the board directors, Peter Briger was elected as the co-chair of the board in 2009. He has also been a member of the Fortress Management Committee that mainly deals with credit and real estate businesses.
Prior to becoming a self-made billionaire, Mr. Briger, obtained his first degree in B.A from Princeton University. He later graduated with a bachelor’s degree in M.B.A from the Wharton School of Business.
Peter Briger has also served with the Tipping Point. This is a non-profit organization based in San Francisco. Tipping Pont mainly helps those families with a low income acquire basic amenities like food, water, and clothing.
Before joining Fortress in 2002, Peter Briger began his career at Goldman Sachs for almost 15 years as one of the partners.
Mr. Briger has also been part of the board members at Caliber Schools. Apart from being a successful man, Mr. Briger has always focused much of his money and time on philanthropic enterprises.
Some of the philanthropic enterprises he’s involved in include the Hospital for Special Surgery. This is a highly regarded hospital in New York City, and it mainly focuses on orthopedic surgery. The hospital has helped the less fortunate in the society that requires medical services.
Peter Briger currently owns four private companies, including Safe Graph, Windfall, Biproxi, and Wauwaa. All these companies provide goods and services to the people around California, San Francisco, New York, and London.
Mr. Briger has made an impact on many organizations, and his expertise in finance and able leadership has seen Fortress Investment group grow exponentially.
However, he says that becoming a successful business leader is not a walk in the park. He adds that for a business to thrive, personal sacrifice is vital. One has to be persistent to survive the many challenges they’ll face.
