GPB Global Resources did their part in helping with the climate change movement
GPB Global Resources B.V. is an Ethiopian oil company. They made a pledge to help Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed with the undertaking of the growing problem of climate change. By making that pledge, they did an outstanding thing. They helped break the world record of planting 350 million trees in one day. You may think that planting trees wouldn’t help climate change. But trees can help because trees can reserve carbon. Like everywhere, forests have been declining. Ethiopia’s forests have dwindled way of having only about 4% of acreage. The Green Legacy Initiative was a success with a huge attendance that span of 1000 neighborhoods. GPB Global Resources B.V. gave two neighborhoods 1000 seedlings to plant. They also have been exploring hydrocarbon with the Ethiopian government’s approval. The oil company hopes to extract in Gewane. The oil company’s ventures don’t just end there. They also want to help Gewane with getting clean and safe water, helping schools with having desks, and medical supplies.

They have about a thousand workers in an array of places like Niger, The Netherlands, Venezuela, Russia, and Ethiopia. In an effort to be successful, they must respect whatever the countries traditions and cultures which is a delicate balance of seeing the positive out of what they think is negative.
