Alberto Bazbaz Sacal Explains What to Do After a Successful Digital Attack
Financial security expert Alberto Bazbaz Sacal reports last year, 85 billion attempts to hack computers were made in Caribbean and Latin American nations. The hackers’ primary objectives were theft of funds and identity theft.
Increased Hacking Attempts
Since the beginning of the pandemic, cyber-crime has increased. Ransomeware is currently the tool most used by cyber-criminals. Ransomeware renders a computer inoperable. To regain the use of their computer, the victim sends the hacker money.

Crypto-Currency Ransom
Hackers prefer ransom payments using crypto-currency. Pay-offs using crypto-currency transactions don’t require an intermediary like a bank. Crypto-currency protects the cybercriminal’s identity.
Responding to a Digital Attack
After a successful cyber-attack, assess the extent of the damage. For example, what information was stolen. Consider hiring an ethical hacker. Ethical hackers analyze the scope of the damage and find the system flaws that made successful hacking possible.
