The Launch of Student Stories From ClassDojo Brings Classwork Home
Students do not bring home enough from school for parents to feel like they know what happened during their student’s day. They want to be more involved in what happens in the classroom. ClassDojo is working on fixing the problem with the release of Student Stories. The ClassDojo application now has an added function, and it shares classroom work with parents who do not get to see all the accomplishments of their children in school. One teacher said that this would help students take pride in their work, and currently, Class Story and Student Stories are ways for the school to send visuals and information to parents.
ClassDojo is hoping that Class Story and Student Stories will help make their application more intimate. The communication these features enable let parents know about the classroom wherever it is, be it a field trip or the math classroom. Parents all wanted to know about their child specifically, and so the new features debuted to fix what previously was communications about the entire class. One teacher mentioned that she uses ClassDojo to reinforce social skills and parental communication. The new features will heighten student confidence and make students take pride in their work. Students use a QR code to send posts to the teacher, who will approve them for home.
Teachers can pass an iPad through the classroom to let students photograph their work, and when the school first testing the new feature tried it out, students were incredibly excited to share their work. Parents comment that ClassDojo already helped them feel connected to their children’s education, but now they have amazing conversations about school at home thanks to the new feature. One teacher said that she had not met a parent that did not love the new feature. Children can now share their classroom stories digitally at home.
