Peter Briger, a significant figure in New York, is the principal and the co-chairman of the Fortress investment group. The financial professional and a businessman studied bachelors of Arts at Princeton University. Before joining the Fortress investment group, Peter Briger was a business overseer and a partner at Goldman Sachs for 15 years. In the same company, he was also the co-head of the firm’s fixed income principal investment group.
In 2009 Peter Briger was elected as the co-chairman of the fortress investment group. Before Peter was given the role, he sat in the management committee. Briger, who stays in San Francisco, California, is currently the overseer of credit funds and real estate business. Peter has led the firm’s operations in different management roles from 2002.

The Fortress investment group was the first to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2007 with an initial public offering. As a philanthropist, Peter Briger is part of a non-profit organization, Tipping Point, where he sits on the board. The san Francisco-based organization helps low-income families. Briger is also a board member of caliber schools that prepares students for success in competitive 4-year colleges.
Peter Briger is part of the Silicon Valley leadership Council that provides global funds for children. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, an organization that creates awareness of foreign policy issues among citizens and elected officials.
Peter’s passion for the community drove him to become a founding member of the boards of Peninsula Guild. Besides, Peter is also part of US soccer and serves in the Investment Committee.
