Sheldon Lavin: A Brilliant Entrepreneur
Sheldon Lavin is best known as the Chairman and CEO of OSI Group. His education background is in accounting and finances obtained from the University of Illinois and Northwestern University. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business at Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois.
In 1970 Otto & Son needed financial capital to expand their company. Lavin was an investment manager and bank executive, who was apart of helping Otto & Son expand. Lavin later became the Chairman and CEO of OSI formerly known as Otto and son. Throughout the expansion of OSI, there are several plants located in Illinois and California. Sheldon Lavin wanted to make a difference by building companies that provide consumers with their everyday needs. He has been making a difference by being active in Rush University Medical Center, the Sheba Foundation, the Inner City Foundation of Chicago, the Jewish United Fund, the Evans Scholarship Fund, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago, the United Negro College Fund, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Goodman Theatre.
Sheldon Lavin received multiple awards throughout his reign as Chairman/CEO at OSI Group. He was awarded the Global Visionary Award on September 20, 2016, at the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. The Global Visionary Award is given to those who have done innovative work-related improvements to their careers.

Sheldon Lavin and the OSI group has achieved various awards since Sheldon Lavin has taken over as Chairman and CEO.
