Andrew Frame is a talented and respected mathematician. He knew he wanted to pursue mathematics from an early age, but it wasn’t until later in his life that he had the opportunity to do so. Andrew Frame was born on October 31, 1920, in Rochester, New York. He first began to develop an interest in mathematics when he attended Harvard University for college. While at Harvard, his interest grew quickly and he ended up majoring in the subject.

He continued with graduate studies at Brown University where he graduated with a Master’s degree. Andrew Frame spent the early years of his research career at Cornell University, where he developed many relationships with other social scientists.

He also worked alongside Harold Davenport who provided him with mathematics training. Andrew then continued on to work at the Carnegie Institute of Technology, which is now known as Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburgh. He worked as a professor and researcher at the university for over forty years.

During his career, Andrew Frame received many awards. Some were awarded to him for his work in mathematics while others he won for his research on social sciences. These included an award from the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, an award from the American Statistical Association, an award from the Carnegie Institute of Technology, and an award from the Mathematical Association of America.

Andrew retired in 1988 and passed away on December 4, 2002, at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife, Louisa, who currently lives in Pittsburgh. The Andrew Scholarship Memorial Fund was also launched to celebrate his life and honor him for all he has achieved.
