Andrew then continued on to work at the Carnegie Institute of Technology, which is now known as Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburgh. He worked as a professor and researcher at the university for over forty years.

During his career, Andrew Frame received many awards. Some were awarded to him for his work in mathematics while others he won for his research on social sciences. These included an award from the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, an award from the American Statistical Association, an award from the Carnegie Institute of Technology, and an award from the Mathematical Association of America.
