Carsten Thiel Spearheading the Fight Against Cancer and Rare diseases

Recordati announced the December 2021 acquisition of EUSA Pharma for $845 million. Formed in 1926, Recordati made $1.72 billion in 2021. It has activities throughout Europe, North Africa, North America, Japan, Australia, and other countries.
It specializes in rare disease treatments with exclusive pharmaceuticals. Dr. Thiel was designated one of the top 25 European healthcare technology CEOs for 2021 by the Healthcare Technology Report. Innovation has grown in importance since the coronavirus outbreak, with biotechnology leading the way. The Report states nominees were evaluated on expertise, organizational success, industry achievements, and peer reputation. Dr. Thiel improved research, development, and product introduction which changed the world after Coronavirus. Dr. Carsten Thiel urged over 200 employees to prioritize patients’ needs. EUSA Pharma is now a multi-million dollar worldwide company thanks to Dr. Thiel’s direction in the company. He has pioneered the development of drugs that may save millions.
Dr. Thiel also headed Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc., bringing life-changing treatments for patients with rare diseases. He was previously Vice President, Head of Europe, and General Manager at Amgen and oversaw regional operations and new product development launches, and oncology franchises in Europe. Dr. Thiel previously led sales and marketing at Roche in Europe. He has a Ph.D. in molecular biology and biochemistry from the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Goettingen
